Who is Eligible?

  1. Skilled Nominated (Permanent) visa (subclass 190)

– Points Requirement: You must score at least 65 points on the points test.

– Occupation: Your occupation must be on the Home Affairs list of eligible skilled occupations (LIN 19/051), with a focus on addressing skill shortages in Queensland’s growing industries.

– English Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate Proficient English or higher.

– Work Experience: You must have been living and working in Queensland for at least the past 6 months. Your work experience must:

  – Have been completed after gaining your qualification.

  – Be closely related to your nominated occupation.

  – Involve at least 30 hours of work per week.

  – Continue at the time you submit your Expression of Interest (EOI).

– Ongoing Employment: You must provide evidence of ongoing employment for at least 12 months from the date of your EOI submission.

– Commitment: You must commit to living and working in Queensland for at least 2 years from the date your visa is granted.

  1. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491)

– Points Requirement: A minimum of 65 points on the points test is required.

– Occupation: Similar to the subclass 190 visa, your occupation must be on the eligible skilled occupations list (LIN 19/051) and aligned with Queensland’s industry shortages.

– English Proficiency: Proficient English or higher is necessary.

– Work Experience: You must have been living and working in regional Queensland for at least the last 3 months. Your work experience must:

  – Be post-qualification.

  – Be closely related to your nominated occupation.

  – Involve a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.

  – Continue at the time you submit your EOI.

– Ongoing Employment: You need to demonstrate that your employment will continue for at least 6 months from the time you submit your EOI.

– Commitment: Applicants must commit to living and working in regional Queensland for at least 3 years from the date the visa is granted.
